Fundamental Performance Hierarchy of woven aramid

All woven aramid textiles are collectively referred to as "woven aramid," and they can be classified by fibre grade to accommodate a variety of challenging industrial settings. Meta-aramid (PMIA) and para-aramid (PPTA), the two main material systems that form the foundation of our woven aramid product range, each preserve the intrinsic, long-lasting molecular benefits of its base polymer. Meta-aramid textiles have a dielectric strength of up to 20 kV/mm for electrical insulation applications, have a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) greater than 28, and do not melt or drop when exposed to flames. Para-aramid textiles achieve ANSI cut resistance values of A5 to A8 and have a tensile strength that is five to six times greater than that of steel wire. They also show exceptional abrasion and cut resistance.Additionally, we provide hybrid conductive woven aramids with persistent anti-static fibres that retain their conductivity even after several wash cycles. These materials are intended for use in cleanroom and explosion-proof workplace clothing.

Forming & Downstream Processing of woven aramid

All grades of woven aramid work with common textile cutting and stitching tools and allow secondary cutting, sewing, and thermoforming without causing substantial fibre breakage. While heavy-duty woven aramid is cut and laminated to create stab-resistant vests and ballistic plates for military and public safety clients, lightweight woven aramid is sewed into welding protection aprons and arc-flash-resistant workwear. For filter bags that can resist prolonged contact to acidic and alkaline flue gases from steel smelting and waste incineration plants, environmentally conscientious facilities purchase porous woven aramid.Low-shrinkage woven aramid composite skins are used by aerospace component makers to lower aircraft interior weight without sacrificing complete flame retardancy.
