Polyester fiber refers to a type of fiber produced by spinning polymers that contain ester groups in their main chains; it most commonly refers to fiber made from polyethylene terephthalate-abbreviated as "PET" based on the English name of the raw material-and is known in my country as *dilian* (polyester). While the term "yarn" is often used as a general label, in the field of apparel materials science, a distinction is made: "yarn" (*sha*) refers to a slender structure formed by arranging numerous staple fibers or continuous filaments in a roughly parallel state and twisting them along the longitudinal axis to achieve specific strength and linear density; "thread" (*xian*), on the other hand, refers to a plied structure created by twisting together two or more single yarns.
