Production Process and Structural Characteristics

In order to improve dispersibility and composite performance, wet aramid pulp is a specifically treated aramid reinforcing material made via fibrillation in a water-based system. A highly developed, fibrillated structure is formed when aramid fibres are cut, refined, and suspended in water during the production process. This method produces a pulp material with a continuous network of microfibres and good dispersion qualities, which makes it appropriate for applications needing reliable mixing performance.

Core Performance and Reinforcement Mechanism

Wet aramid pulp's capacity to blend better processing characteristics with the intrinsic qualities of para-aramid fibres is one of its important features. Better bonding with rubber, resin, and other composite systems is made possible by the fibrillated microfibre structure, which expands the contact area between the pulp and the matrix material. The pulp contributes to material stability, viscosity control, and reinforcement during shear processing.

Industrial Applications and Product Advantages

Wet aramid slurries are added to rubber components, sealing materials, and friction products to improve their functionality. Automotive brake pads, gaskets, clutch materials, drive belts, and other industrial products that need to be resistant to heat, wear, and mechanical stress use it. Long-term product performance is maintained and durability is increased because to the pulp construction.

The degree of fibrillation and fibre length selection can be changed to modify the wet pulp's characteristics.

According to the specifications that are now available, typical values include an average fibre length of 0.6–1.4 mm, a specific surface area of roughly 7–15 m²/g, and a thermal disintegration temperature of roughly 550°C for certain grades. These characteristics allow manufacturers to choose the right grade according to processing specifications and final product performance objectives.

Wet aramid pulp interacts more strongly with the surrounding matrix and has a finer fibre structure than conventional fibre reinforcements. It is appropriate for sophisticated industrial applications such as friction materials, sealing systems, speciality papers, and composite goods due to its excellent dispersion, reinforcing capabilities, and stable thermal properties.
