A technical textile made of continuous basalt fibres is called heat-resistant basalt fabric. Its primary benefit is its capacity to have durability, mechanical strength, and heat resistance all at once. Applications include electrical insulation, construction reinforcement, aerospace components, and vehicle thermal and electrical insulation. Additionally, manual lay-up, prepreg, pultrusion, SMC/BMC, resin transfer moulding, resin film weaving, and vacuum impregnation can all be used to incorporate this fabric into composites.
