Simple Weave, Stable Construction

The most basic and widely used woven structure is used in plain weave basalt cloth. A fabric with a symmetrical structure, great stability, and limited breathability is produced by alternating the placement of each warp yarn above and below the weft yarn. One of the distinguishing characteristics of plain weave fabric is the well-known check pattern created by the intertwining of warp threads. This structure's robust construction makes it appropriate for applications requiring great dimensional stability, despite the fact that it is typically less flexible than other weaving techniques.

Available Fabric Weights

Different fabric weights are included in the typical basalt fabric series to accommodate varying reinforcement needs.The weave structure should be taken into account when employing larger or higher tex fibres. According to sources, mechanical performance may be impacted by a greater degree of fibre crimp in simple weave textiles, but excessive crimping may be seen in particularly heavy fabrics with large fibres. For this reason, rather than using nominal gsm as the only parameter, fabric weight and yarn structure must be chosen jointly.

It can be used with thermosetting adhesives to create basalt plastic parts for cars, planes, ships, and home appliances. In electronic and electrical engineering, it is also utilised as a reinforcing material for insulation and as the foundation for roofs.
Excellent tensile strength, good coating adherence, and the ability to withstand temperatures as high as 1800°F/982°C make basalt fabric fireproof and non-flammable.
