Made from high-tenacity PPTA (para-aramid) raw material, this cut-resistant aramid yarn is designed to resist abrasive metal surfaces and sharp blades that would quickly deteriorate traditional textile yarns. The yarn achieves top-tier ANSI A5–A8 and EN388 E–F cut protection ratings without the use of steel fibre blends, which can introduce undesired stiffness, weight, and rust risks, by utilising the fiber's ultrahigh specific strength and elastic modulus to distribute cutting forces evenly across its cross-section. Our exclusive "Bedrock" cut-resistance modification technology balances excellent cut resistance with the smooth, flexible hand-feel needed for fine-gauge knitting equipment by optimising molecule orientation during spinning. Knitting & Garment Applications of Cut Resistant Aramid Yarn

With conventional fibre cut lengths of 38 mm, 51 mm, and 76 mm and a linear density range of 1.5 to 4 denier, cut-resistant aramid yarn is mostly made by spinning staple fibres. It is suitable with glove knitting machines that are 13 gauge, 15 gauge, and 18 gauge. The most common use for this yarn is in lightweight knitted safety gloves, which improve workers' manual dexterity in sheet metal processing, glass handling, and mechanical assembly by replacing heavy steel-lined gloves. Additionally, manufacturers make full-body cut-resistant protective gear for workers in the trash recycling, construction, and metalworking industries using twisted, heavier-gauge cut-resistant aramid yarns.

Cut-resistant aramid yarn is also used in protective racing clothing to prevent cuts and abrasions from sharp objects in high-speed car crashes.
