For textile applications where mechanical qualities, electrical insulation, and temperature resistance are crucial, basalt fibre yarn-which is composed of continuous basalt fibers-is appropriate. The offered series offers specified linear density and twist levels for different fabric combinations and uses basalt rovings with filament diameters ranging from 6 to 13 μm.

Textile Performance and Applications

Excellent mechanical and electrical insulating qualities, high tensile strength and modulus, consistent tension, and cohesiveness are all characteristics of basalt fibre yarn. It can be applied to unidirectional fabrics that need high strength, high elastic modulus, and high temperature resistance, as well as electrically insulating yarns and threads. Woven textiles can offer radiation and heat resistance at temperatures between 650 and 980°C after undergoing a specific surface treatment.

Additionally, linear densities between 2,000 and 48,000 dtex, a modulus of elasticity of at least 90 GPa, a tensile strength of at least 2,000 MPa, and an operating temperature range between -269 and 650°C are listed in the basalt yarn data.
