Basalt Fiber Industry Standards

At the industry standard level, my country has issued standards such as GB/T 25045-2010 *Basalt Fiber Untwisted Roving* and GB/T 38111-2019 *Classification, Grading, and Designation of Basalt Fiber*, which establish clear specifications for parameters such as fiber diameter deviation, breaking strength, and alkali resistance. For instance, basalt fiber intended for construction applications must meet requirements for a breaking strength of ≥3000 MPa and a diameter deviation of ≤±15%, whereas filtration materials must pass tests for 0.3 μm particle filtration efficiency. Internationally, the ISO 20789:2018 standard provides globally unified specifications regarding the chemical composition (SiO₂ content ≥45%) and physical properties (modulus ≥70 GPa) of basalt fiber.
