Precision Length Control of Aramid Cut Fiber

For usage in textile and nonwoven manufacturing processes, aromatic polyamide fibres are cut to exact, predetermined lengths to create aramid cut fibres. Strict control over length tolerances is necessary during manufacturing to guarantee reliable feeding and processing in downstream machinery. Both meta-aramid and para-aramid materials are used in our production of cut fibres; para-aramid versions come in typical cut lengths of 38 mm, 51 mm, and 76 mm, while meta-aramid cut fibres come in linear densities ranging from 0.8 to 15 denier. Every length grade is adjusted to satisfy particular spinning system specifications: Longer 51 mm and 76 mm fibres are intended for coarse-count industrial yarns and heavy felt manufacture, while shorter 38 mm fibres are appropriate for fine-count yarn spinning and lightweight nonwovens.In order to improve fibre cohesion during spinning, reduce yarn breakage, and increase production efficiency for the customer, crimp levels and surface finishes are also modified based on the length grade. Natural white and solution-dyed colour options are offered for all cut-length specifications.

Length-Graded Downstream Process Matching of Aramid Cut Fiber

Specific industrial application workflows are intimately correlated with different cut lengths of aramid staple fibres. Fine-denier, short-cut meta-aramid fibres are processed into high-temperature filtration felts for waste incineration and dust collection in steel mills; their uniform fibre distribution ensures consistent filtering efficiency and resistance to acid and alkali corrosion. Standard 38mm-cut para-aramid fibres are the primary raw material for yarns used in 13G, 15G, and 18G cut-resistant gloves.This allows for the manufacturing of flexible, lightweight gloves with ANSI A5–A8 cut protection levels without the need of steel or glass fibre additives. Heavy-duty industrial yarns made from longer para-aramid staple fibres (51 mm and 76 mm) are used to make industrial sewing threads to weave protective apparel.
